Tamsen Ann Ziff

Chairman, Metropolitan Opera

Ann Ziff is a jewelry designer, boutique owner and avid philanthropist. She is the widow of William B. Ziff Jr., the former head of Ziff Davis, a New York publishing company, who died in 2006. Ann presently serves as Chairman of the Metropolitan Opera. She is also a Vice Chairman of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, a member of the board of trustees of Carnegie Hall, and the founder and producer of the Caribbean Community Theater in St. Croix. Ann currently serves on the boards of the American Museum of Natural History, Fairchild Tropical Garden, Maloto, Inc., the New York Restoration Project, Sing for Hope, and the World Science Festival.

Kenneth French

Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College

Ken is a professor at Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business and is an expert on the behavior of security prices and investment strategies. Before joining Dartmouth, Ken was on the faculty of MIT’s Sloan School of Management, the Yale School of Management, and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He also served on Smile Train’s Board of Governors.

Atul Gawande

M.D., Surgeon, Harvard Professor and Author

Atul practices surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He is also Associate Prof. of Surgery at Harvard Medical School and Associate Prof. in the Dept. of Health Policy and Management at the Harvard School of Public Health. Atul has been a staff writer for the New Yorker magazine since 1998 and has written 3 New York Times bestselling books. TIME magazine called him one of the world’s top 100 influential thinkers.

Joseph G. McCarthy

M.D., Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, NYU

Joe is one of the most renowned reconstructive plastic surgeons in the world. He received his undergraduate education at Harvard University and his medical degree at Columbia University. He is the Lawrence D. Bell Professor of Plastic Surgery and Director of the Institute at NYU Langone Medical Center. He has written extensively on facial surgery and the correction of craniofacial deformities. Joe was also the Founding Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board of Smile Train.

Garrett Moran

Senior Advisor, Blackstone

Garrett served as a private equity executive at Blackstone for 7 years. Most recently, he served as Senior Managing Director and was a member of the Private Equity Executive Committee and all of Blackstone’s Private Equity investment committees. Prior to that, Garrett was the Chief Operating Officer of the Private Equity group and oversaw the firm’s corporate responsibility initiatives. Garrett is a board member of the Posse Foundation and Middlebury College. He currently serves as a Senior Advisor at Blackstone.

Anjali Sastry is an expert on global health and a professor at MIT Sloan. She leads a Global Health Lab that partners with a carefully selected set of enterprises on the front lines of delivering healthcare in the developing world. Her professional experience includes management consulting at Bain and Co. and research positions at Rocky Mountain Institute and the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory.
